The hand is adorned with the skull of the little parakeet and an old Venetian bead and/or a gem. In voodoo beliefs, the bead represents a gift to the deity being sought and allows the wish to be activated. The intertwined threads of the open ring symbolize the tight bonds of the fetishes that seal the wish.
